No one knows kids better than the Kansas Children’s
Service
League. For more than 100 years, we’ve provided a continuum of programs
and services, advocated for children, and collaborated with public and
private agencies to impact the lives of more than 40,000 children and
families each year. KCSL is dedicated to providing services and
advocacy efforts that focus on keeping children safe, families strong,
and communities involved.

Since
1977, the YWCA Battered Women Task Force (BWTF) has worked to make sure
that help is available for survivors of domestic or sexual violence. As
advocates, we are not here to judge, only to help. We discuss all
options available to victims of violence. All services for victims are
available free of charge. The YWCA BWTF offers a variety of services
for victims of violence and the community.

For Safe Visit, a Topeka program that provides supervised
visits and exchanges of children, January should have been a month of
celebration. The month marks the organization’s 15th anniversary as the
first of its kind in Kansas. Instead, its staff is just trying to
keep it going. United Way of Greater Topeka pulled its funding
from the organization this year. The $70,000 made up half of Safe
Visit’s budget. More...

If Your Kids Could
Make the Rules of Divorce
In week six of Children of Divorce and Changing Families' 8-week
program, we do an exercise where we ask each child in the 10-12
year old group to create a set of rules that they wish their parents
would follow to ease post divorce stresses.
