Kansas Network of Visitation Providers

The Kansas Network of Visitation Providers is a not for profit organization dedicated to providing a forum for communication among its members concerning issues pertaining to: the delivery of the child visitation/exchange services, provide educational and technical assistance to its members, education to the public, and providing any other services and information as may be appropriate.

Funding for Centers is provided by federal, state, and local funds; private foundations; and user fees. Centers follow guidelines set by the Office of the Governor and the Attorney General of the State of Kansas. Each Center develops its own method of service delivery within the guidelines. Each Center is a member in good standing of the National Supervised Visitation Network. Most Centers offer additional educational/support services and referrals to community resources.

Safe Havens Grant Project
The Kansas Governor’s Office received a discretionary federal grant, Safe Havens: Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange (Safe Havens) to support efforts to develop and enhance services for supervised visitation and safe exchange of children in situations involving domestic violence, dating violence, child abuse, sexual assault and stalking. The Governor’s office has partnered with the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, the Kansas Network of Visitation Providers, the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, and the Kansas Office of Judicial Administration and formed the Governor and Attorney General’s Committee on Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Centers to work on this grant project.

The grant project objectives include conducting a needs assessment to determine gaps in service area and expand or develop additional visitation programs, revise statewide guidelines for visitation programs and develop a statewide training curriculum.
